Welcome to the Impact Travel blog

When I was in Himachal Pradesh in North India last month, I was lucky enough to see a local religious ceremony. I was the only foreigner there and the ceremony was unlike anything I have seen before. After picking up my jaw from the floor, I realised that sometimes life is stranger than fiction. Some stories are too good not share.

Travelling can range from short weekend trips to long term multi-year endeavours. Whichever you decide to do, you will be in a new environment and out of your comfort zone. How to deal with culture shocks, travel fatigue, different travel companions? There have been a host of situations where I have found myself dumbfounded, frustrated or exhausted. I probably didn't handle some situations as well as I should. But over time, I learned many things and was able to attract many opportunities.

It's not only drama and woes, there are plenty of light-hearted, funny stories to tell that have value as well. I will keep it short, time is precious, for you and me both. Given in digestible pieces, I share my lessons and hope that you can make the most of your travels.

Thanks for reading and see you soon!
